Influenza & COVID-19

The 2020-2021 flu season is just around the corner and experts are urging everyone that is eligible to receive their flu vaccine this year. The influenza vaccination is recommended for everyone six months and older. Patients that have never received a flu shot before are required to get two doses, one month a part, to build stronger immunity. Please keep this in mind for your young children to plan accordingly to ensure the best immunity before flu season hits.

Due to the COVID-19 pandemic, the influenza vaccine is especially important this year. Influenza and COVID-19 have similar symptoms of fever and respiratory symptoms and we will likely see a surge in ER and hospital visits as the viruses start to circulate at the same time. The lower levels of circulating influenza, the better. To keep your child safe from potentially getting both viruses at the same time it is recommended to protect yourself and your loved ones by receiving the flu vaccine.

The CDC recommends that the best time to get your flu vaccine is between September and October. We have placed an increased order of vaccinations this year and are awaiting our shipment. We should have the vaccination in stock within the next month. Please stay up to date with our notifications to schedule your vaccine-only appointment at your earliest convenience.
